Abstract

The current study aimed to identify the relationship between the attachment style and behavioral problems in autistic. The study also aimed to reveal the role that attachment patterns play in predicting behavioral problems. The study sample consisted of (43 autistic children, 28 males, 15 females), whose ages ranged between (4-6) years, the attachment style scale was applied to them (prepared by Sameh Saada, 2022), Behavioral Problems Scale among autistic children (translated by Sameh Saada and Hind Imbabi, 2019). The results of the study revealed a positive, statistically significant correlation at the level of significance (0.01) between the dimensions of behavioral problems and the total degree and between the dimensions of resistance, avoidance and disordered attachment, while the relationship between The dimensions of behavioral problems, the total degree, and the secure attachment style are negative and statistically significant. The results also revealed that the secure attachment pattern was a negative predictor of behavioral problems, while the avoidant attachment style was a positive predictor of behavioral problems. The results were interpreted in light of the results of previous research and studies.
