Developing a Master’s Program in Comparative Education at the Faculty of Education, Umm Al-Qura University in light of the experience of the Faculty of Education, University of Oxford

Abstract

This research aimed to describe the process and procedures for the development of the Master’s Program in Comparative Education at Umm Al-Qura University. The equivalent program at the University of Oxford was selected as the basis for the development of the program at Umm Al-Qura University. To achieve these goals, the descriptive approach was used by collecting facts and information about the two programs, and the research relied on published information describing the two programs on the official websites of the faculties of education at the Universities of Oxford and Umm Al-Qura. The results showed some positive aspects of the Master’s Program in Comparative Education at the Faculty of Education, Oxford University that can be used to develop the Master’s Program in Comparative Education at the Faculty of Education, Umm Al-Qura University. In light of these results, this research makes several recommendations for decision makers at Umm Al-Qura University in particular, for Saudi universities in general, and for researchers in the field of specialization.
