A proposed vision for a distance training program to develop specialized professional standards for Arabic language teachers

Abstract

 The current study aimed to design a proposed distance training program to develop specialized professional standards for Arabic language teachers. In order to achieve this goal, a questionnaire was designed to identify all of the following: The reality of Arabic language teachers being able to meet specialized professional standards witch necessary for them in public education schools from the point of view of Arabic language supervisors and teachers; The training needs of Arabic language teachers in specialized professional standards from the point of view of Arabic language teachers; Training needs of Arabic language teachers in specialized professional standards from the point of view of Arabic language supervisors. The descriptive approach was used to determine the training needs of Arabic language teachers for the intermediate and secondary levels. And the constructivist approach, which is the scientific method used in building the new program. The study's questionnaire was applied to a random sample of (423) Arabic language teachers from the intermediate and secondary levels. and (30) Arabic language supervisors from the intermediate and secondary levels. The study reached the following results: The reality of Arabic language teachers being able to meet specialized professional standards witch necessary for them in public education schools came at a (medium) degree with a mean (1.62). The training needs of Arabic language teachers in the specialized professional standards, from their point of view, came in a (high) degree with a mean (2.40). The training needs of Arabic language teachers in specialized professional standards from the point of view of Arabic language supervisors came in a (high) degree with a mean (2.65). Through the results of the field study, the study was able to come up with a proposed vision for a distance training program to develop specialized professional standards for Arabic language teachers. The study also found training scenarios, the normal scenario and the acceleration scenario, and the study recommended that the Ministry of Education hold training courses to develop the skills of Arabic language teachers in light of the standards of the professional, educational and specialized license. And that the performance of Arabic language teachers is evaluated in light of the standards of the specialized professional license required for them.
