Requirements to Fulfil the Concept of Equal Educational Opportunity in Egypt's Basic Education Stage with Reference to Finland's Experience

Abstract

The study's goal is to establish proposed conditions for achieving the principle of equal educational chances in basic education in Egypt based on Finland's experience. To achieve its objectives, the research used an appropriate scientific approach, represented in the comparative approach, and its results included the following: The requirements for achieving the principle of equal educational opportunities in admission policies included: providing education with high quality and efficiency in the basic education stage in Egypt for all members of society, and providing health and social care for students, Providing free school meals and school uniforms for students of poor families.  As for the requirements for achieving the principle of equal educational opportunities in achieving gender equality in basic education in Egypt, they included: spreading awareness of the importance of gender equality, identifying problems that stand in the way of achieving gender equality, finding solutions to them, and providing awareness among females and their families of the importance of education and how to overcome the problems that they may face in order to obtain this education, and to provide financial support programs conditional on the education of females in families in remote and poor areas.
