Abstract

This study aimed to identify some successful global experiences in the investment partnership between universities and the private sector in the field of higher education represented in the university business incubator model, and to identify the proposed mechanisms to benefit from such experiences in activating the investment of university business incubators in the field of higher education in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The study used the comparative descriptive approach of the available literature and documents. In light of the findings of the study, a number of recommendations and suggestions were developed; the most important of which are: taking advantage of the internationally adopted regulatory frameworks on which establishing partnership projects between universities and the private sector are built, encouraging the local and international private sector to invest in the field of higher education and training in partnership with universities, and establishing international partnerships with international universities and international centers and incubators to open branches in the Kingdom. The study also recommended attracting distinguished educational companies and institutions to present workshops and lectures on their experiences in the field of joint investment with universities, colleges and institutes, in addition to improving efficiency in project management and operation, and rapid response to the needs of individuals and society in light of the flexibility that the private sector enjoys in moving, taking advantage of opportunities, making decisions, and responding quickly to any emergency problems.
