Abstract

This study aimed to figure out the communication apprehension of the trainee in the institutes of the Vocational Training Corporation and its relation to the disruptive behavior. The study adopted the correlational, descriptive approach. To achieve the objectives of the study, the translated version of the communication apprehension scale was used in addition to the disruptive behavior scale developed by the researcher. The sample of the field study consisted of (377) trainees from the study population represented by the students of the Vocational Training Corporation in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan in (2021). After verifying the validity and stability of the tool, the study concluded that: a medium level for the communication apprehension among the trainees in the institutes of the Vocational Training Corporation in Jordan and a low level in the disruptive behavior of the trainees at the institutes of the Vocational Training Corporation in Jordan. The study also showed that most of the correlation coefficients between the sub-dimensions of the communication apprehension scale and the scale as a whole and the sub-dimensions of the disruptive behavior scale and the scale as a whole were negative and statistically significant, except for the correlation coefficient between two dimensions (fraud, theft, and communication with others) since its value was (0.032), which is not a statistically significant value. Based on the results, the study recommends the need for setting a training program at the Vocational Training Corporation that aims to develop the rules of the rational and positive thinking among the trainees through training them on positive and logical thinking methods and preparing training programs that teach the trainee how to take care of the communication through sequential and organized steps.
