Linguistic Task -Based Program for Developing Reading Fluency and Functional Speaking Skills of primary Stage Pupils

Abstract

    This research investigated the effect of using Linguistic Task-Based Program for Developing Reading Fluency Skills and Functional Speaking Skills of primary School fifth year Students, the research materials concluded: a list of reading fluency Skills, a list of Functional Speaking Skills, Linguistic Task-Based Program, and Two measures were used for assessment purposes: Reading Fluency Skills Test and Functional Speaking Skills Test, the research used the experimental method based on the quasi-experimental design (Pre-post one group design), and The sample consisted of 36 pupils of the fifth grade of primary school, Findings of the research showed the effectiveness of Linguistic Task-Based Program in developing Reading Fluency Skills and Functional Speaking Skills among the research sample, and findings revealed that there is a statistically significant correlation between developing Reading Fluency Skills and improved Functional Speaking Skills of primary School fifth year Students. In the light of the beforehand mentioned results, a group of recommendations and future researches were mentioned.
