The Effect of Using 5E’s and Concept Maps Strategies in the Arabic Language Subject Achievement among 8th Female Basic Grade Students in Al-Qasser Directorate of Education

Abstract

This study aimed at investigating the effect of using 5es learning cycle and concept maps strategies in the achievement of the arabic language among 8th female basic grade students in Al-Qasser directorate of education. The sample of the study comprised (72) female students whom were divided into three groups: experimental group consisting of (25) female students whom were taught  using the 5E’s learning strategy and another experimental group consisting of (23) female student whom were taught using the concept maps strategy.  The control group consisting of (24) female students were taught using the conventional method. The researchers followed the quasi-experimental method to achieve the purposes of the study. The researchers developed the instruments of the study and checked their validity and reliability. The results of the research revealed that there were statistically significant differences in the students’ performance on the achievement test between the 5Es learning cycle, the concept maps and the conventional strategies due to the 5Es  and the concept maps  strategies. The results of the study also revealed that there were statistically significant differences in the students’ performance on the achievement test between the 5Es learning cycle and the concept maps strategies in favour of the 5Es learning cycle and the concept maps strategies. In light of the results of the study, the researchers recommended adopting the 5Es learning cycle in all school stages and subjects and including some other variables such as critical thinking, problem solving due to their immense role in achievement, self-esteem and performance motivation.
