Abstract

The study aimed to identify the indicators of the social exclusion of the Jordanian female teachers, and the exclusion of their demands during the teachers strike in 2019 to reveal its justifications and factors from the female teachers’ own point of view. The research also aimed to find out the level of interactive participation of female teachers in the Jordanian teachers' strikes. The research used the descriptive survey approach and the qualitative approach and made use of a questionnaire and interview to attain the research objectives. Quantitative and qualitative data have been collected through in-depth interviews with a number of specialists and experts (males and females). Other special information has been collected from the study sample consisting of (380) female teachers, who were chosen using quota random sampling method from the research community which consists of (5069) female teachers who work in the government schools in the governorate of Karak. The results of the research showed that the overall level of social and demands exclusion for the female teachers' in the Jordanian teachers' strike of (2019), according to female teachers' own viewpoint, is high and with a mean of (3.778). It also showed that the interactive participation of the female teachers in the strike of (2019) was high with an average of (3.780). The results showed that the most important factors for the social and demands exclusion are ignorance of what the social and demands exclusion is, and the stereotype of the female teachers as merely complementing of numerical compatibility. The study recommended achieving equality between male and female teachers in terms of privileges, acquired rights and the representation in leadership positions in the teacher's union.
