Abstract

This research aimed to determine the optimal group size (small and medium) and collaboration style (fixed and variable) within an electronic environment, as well as to investigate the interaction between group size and style in relation to their impact on developing digital skills among faculty members at Al-Azhar University. A 2x2 factorial experimental design was employed, with group size (small and medium) and collaboration style (fixed and variable) as independent variables, and digital skills as the dependent variable. The sample consisted of faculty members. The research yielded several significant findings:

There was a statistically significant difference (p ≥ 0.05) between the pre-test and post-test mean scores of all participants on the knowledge achievement test and observation checklist, in favor of the post-test.
There was a statistically significant difference (p ≥ 0.05) in the post-test mean scores on the knowledge achievement test and observation checklist for digital skills, attributable to the effect of group size, in favor of medium-sized groups.
A statistically significant difference (p ≥ 0.05) was found between the post-test mean scores of members in fixed-style groups and variable-style groups on the knowledge achievement test and observation checklist, in favor of fixed-style groups.
The results also indicated no statistically significant difference (p ≥ 0.05) between the mean scores of participants in the four study groups on the post-test knowledge achievement test and observation checklist, attributable to the interaction between group size (small and medium) and collaboration style (fixed and variable).
