The current study investigated the predicted death anxiety level among the nurses working in the intensive care unit of Alexithymia in the governmental and military hospitals in Karakin 2019/2020. To achieve the goals of the study, two scales were developed: (1) the death anxiety scale which consists of four dimensions, namely: fear of death, fear of dying, fear of life discontinuance, and fear of life after death. (2) Alexithymia scale which consists of three dimensions: The difficulty offeelings' distinction, difficulty of describing feelings, and thinking which is directed externally. The psychometric properties of the two scales were verified (validity and reliability). The results of the study concluded that the level of death anxiety and Alexithymia among the nurses came at a moderate degree, both on the overall degree and on the dimensions. Also, the results showed that there is a positive correlation between death anxiety and Alexithymia. The death anxiety dimensions showed (11%) percentage from Alexithymia and the fear of life after death showed the highest dimension in the interpretation. The results also revealed that there is no statistically significant difference in death anxiety and Alexithymia according to the nurses' years of experience. Based on the results of the study, some recommendations are presented such as to take the advantage of the nature of the relationship between death anxiety and Alexithymia and if in case noticing such phenomenon, the nurse has to work on reducing the other phenomenon associated.
