هدفت الدراسة بيان الأنماط القيادية السائدة لمديري مدارس التعليم الثانوي العام في الکويت والإمارات العربية المتحدة وعلاقتها بمستوى دافعية الإنجاز للمعلمين، وتم استخدام المنهج الوصفي، واعتمدت على استبانتين في جمع البيانات إحداهما خاصة بالأنماط القيادية لقادة المدارس الثانوية، والأخرى خاصة بدافعية الإنجاز لدى المعلمين بهذه المدارس، وبلغت عينة الدراسة (110) معلماً ومعلمة من دولة الکويت، و(62) معلماً ومعلمة من دولة الإمارات، وأشارت النتائج لما يلي: أن مستوى النمط القيادي السائد لدى مديري مدارس التعليم الثانوي العام في دولتي الکويت والإمارات العربية المتحدة، نمط القيادة (النمط الديمقراطي) بالرتبة الأولى بأعلى متوسط حسابي (3.32) وبمستوى متوسط, تلاه نمط (النمط الأوتوقراطي) بمتوسط حسابي (2.88) بمستوى متوسط, في حين جاء نمط (النمط الترسلي) بالرتبة الأخيرة بأقل متوسط حسابي (2.48) وبمستوى متوسط، لا توجد فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية في أنماط القيادة تبعاً لمتغيري الجنس والخبرة، أن مستوى دافعية الإنجاز لدى المعلمين في دولتي الکويت والإمارات العربية المتحدة جاء بمستوى مرتفع، وجاءت فيه فروق تبعاً لمتغير الدولة لصالح الإمارات بينما لم توجد فيه فروق تبعاً لمتغيري الجنس والخبرة، توجد علاقة ارتباطية إيجابية بين النمط الديمقراطي ودافعية الإنجاز لدى المعلمين في دولتي الکويت والإمارات العربية المتحدة, ويدل الارتباط الموجب على أن الزيادة في النمط الديمقراطي يؤدي إلى الزيادة في دافعية الإنجاز لدى المعلمين في دولتي الکويت والإمارات العربية المتحدة، لا توجد علاقة ارتباطية بين النمط الأوتوقراطي ودافعية الإنجاز لدى المعلمين في دولتي الکويت والإمارات العربية المتحدة، توجد علاقة ارتباطية سلبية بين النمط الترسلي ودافعية الإنجاز لدى المعلمين, ويدل الارتباط السالب على أن الزيادة في النمط الترسلي يؤدي إلى النقصان في دافعية الإنجاز لدى المعلمين.
The present study aimed to illustrate the prevailing leadership patterns of general secondary school principals in Kuwait and the United Arab Emirates and such patterns correlation with the level of achievement motivation among teachers. The descriptive method was used, and the study relied on two questionnaires in data collection: one for leadership styles for secondary school leaders, and the other for achievement motivation for teachers in these schools. The study sample included (110) male and female teachers from the State of Kuwait and (62) male and female teachers from the United Arab Emirates. The results attained indicated that the level of leadership pattern prevailing among general secondary school principals in Kuwait and the United Arab Emirates is (the democratic pattern) which ranked first with the highest arithmetic mean (3.32) and at an average level; followed by the (autocratic pattern) with an arithmetic mean of (2.88) with an average level. The (improvisational pattern) pattern came in the last rank with the lowest mean (2.48) with an average level. There were no statistically significant differences in leadership patterns according to the variables of gender and experience. The level of achievement motivation among teachers in Kuwait and the United Arab Emirates came at a high level, and the differences were in favor of the UAE, while there were no differences according to the variables of sex and experience. There is a positive correlation between the democratic pattern and achievement motivation among teachers in the states of Kuwait and the United Arab Emirates. The positive correlation indicates that the increase in the democratic style leads to an increase in the achievement motivation among teachers in the states of Kuwait and the United Arab Emirates. There is no correlation between the autocratic pattern and achievement motivation for teachers in  Kuwait and the United Arab Emirates. There is a negative correlation between the improvisational pattern and the achievement motivation among teachers. The negative correlation indicates that the increase in the improvisational pattern leads to a decrease in the achievement motivation among teachers.
