Abstract

The present research aimed at developing a strategy for activating the students' participation at the Egyptian faculties of education in scientific research in light of some advanced universities' experiences via using the (SWOT analysis model) to identify the conceptual framework and the most significant methods and techniques of students' participation in scientific research, monitoring the most important experiences of some advanced universities in this field, and revealing the reality of students' participation in scientific research at the Egyptian faculties of education from their point of view as one of the foundations of the strategy structure. The research adopted the descriptive approach and relied on the questionnaire instrument, which consisted of four axes: the legislative framework and organizational culture, the university environment and equipment, the culture of participation in scientific research, and the faculty member's role. It was applied to a sample of (612) male and female students at the faculties of education in some Egyptian universities. The research revealed several results, the most significant of which are: the degree of participation of male and female students at the faculties of education in scientific research was medium, with a mean score (2.859), and a percentage of (57.19), and the order of the questionnaire axes was as follows: the fourth axis (the faculty member's role) was ranked first with a “high” degree, then the third axis (the culture of participation in scientific research) was ranked second with a “medium” degree, then the first axis (the legislative framework and organizational culture) was ranked third with a “medium” degree, then the second axis (the university environment and equipment) was ranked fourth and last with a “low” degree. In light of these results, the research proposed implementing a strategy using the (SWOT analysis model) which includes a set of procedures through which the students' participation in scientific research at the Egyptian faculties of education can be activated in light of some advanced universities' experiences
