Abstract

The current research aimed to measure the effectiveness of a proposed unit based on artificial intelligence applications in developing awareness of climate change issues and some of the future thinking skills associated with it among secondary school students. The research sample consisted of the first year secondary school students, and the sample size was (30) students from Bani Ali Secondary School in Minya, The research tools were: (an achievement test, an attitude scale, an attitude test to measure awareness of climate change issues, and a future thinking skills test). The researchers followed the descriptive approach and the quasi-experimental approach based on the pre- and post-application of the research group, After applying the experimental treatment materials, applying the pre- and post-research tools, and calculating the quantitative estimates for those tools, the research results resulted in statistically significant differences between the average scores of the research group in the pre- and post-applications of the achievement test, the attitude scale, the attitudes test, and the future thinking skills test, in favor of the post-application, Which confirms the effectiveness of the proposed unit based on artificial intelligence applications in developing awareness of climate change issues and some of the future thinking skills associated With her among the students of the first year of secondary school. The research also recommended the need for curriculum developers to pay attention to employing artificial intelligence applications in geography curricula, Holding courses to train teachers to employ these applications in the educational process, in addition to the need to integrate climate change issues and future thinking skills into geography curricula for various educational levels.
