Abstract: This study aimed to examine the relationship between academic perseverance and emotional intelligence among Al-Azhar University students, in addition to analyzing the statistical differences between males and females, as well as between students of scientific and literary specializations in these two variables. The study sample consisted of (860) male and female students from various faculties of Al-Azhar University. Data were collected using two scales developed to measure academic perseverance and emotional intelligence. Statistical analysis results showed a statistically significant relationship between academic perseverance and emotional intelligence among the students. Significant differences were found between the mean scores of males and females in academic perseverance in favor of males. Regarding fields of study, significant differences were found in favor of scientific specialization students in challenge preference, self-motivation, and the total score, while no significant differences were found in passion for learning and self-confidence. Moreover, statistically significant differences were found between males and females in social communication and the total score in favor of males, whereas no significant differences appeared in emotional awareness and management and empathy. Concerning academic specialization, differences in emotional intelligence across all its dimensions and in the total score favored students in scientific specializations.
