Abstract

The research aimed to present the Islamic perspective on the importance of religious awareness of national belonging among the people of Sinai and its significant impact on achieving the desired development of this blessed region. The current research employed both the fundamentalist and descriptive approaches. It included a general framework comprising the introduction, research problem, questions, objectives, significance, methodology, and a review of previous studies. The study was structured into four main sections:

The first section provided an overview of the Sinai Peninsula under the title: The Sinai Peninsula... Place and Status.
The second section explored the conceptual framework of national belonging from an Islamic educational perspective.
The third section examined the manifestations of national belonging in light of the Qur’an and the Prophetic Sunnah.
The fourth section discussed the role of educational institutions in fostering national belonging among citizens through their various functions.

The most important findings are as follows: There can be no real development in Sinai without strengthening national belonging in the hearts of its people. Families, schools, universities, the media, and religious institutions bear a significant responsibility in fostering a sense of national pride, raising awareness of their homeland’s historical legacy, and emphasizing the importance of preserving and protecting it from internal and external threats. These institutions must also cultivate a sense of national responsibility, instill a duty toward oneself, promote respect for others, encourage proper conduct with those of differing opinions, and deepen the correct Islamic creed based on moderation, justice, and equality.
