Abstract

The current research aims to identify research trends in the field of giftedness and creativity through the analysis of (53) studies published in nine Saudi refereed journals in the period during the years (2014-2024) in light of some features of scientific publishing. These journals are: Journal of Educational and Psychological Sciences, King Abdulaziz University, Humanities and Educational Sciences, University of Bisha, North Humanities, Northern Border University, Educational and Psychological Sciences, Qassim University, Educational Sciences, King Saud University, Taibah University, Educational Sciences, Educational and Psychological Sciences, um Al-Qura University, Educational Sciences, Imam Muhammad bin Saud University, and the Saudi Journal of Special Education (JSTER). The trends of these studies were analyzed quantitatively in light of some features of scientific publishing, the studies  orientations were distributed on four main topics: studies  on the characteristics of the gifted came in first, studies  on issues related to verifying the effectiveness of an enrichment program, education, or educational strategy, and studies  on the issues of school principals and gifted teachers ranked second equally, studies  on issues related to verifying the validity of building and codifying tests and standards and the reality of gifted care came in third and last. The results also found a number of publishing features, including the following: the participation rate of males in publishing is higher than females, the non-experimental methodology is the most used method, students are the most used types of samples, the most common sample selection methods are non-random methods, and the most common data collection tools are questionnaires, tests and measures.
