Abstract

The aim of this study was to identify the educational challenges posed by the danger of homosexuality on families in Kuwait of the digital era. This objective is achieved by recognizing the negative effects of homosexuality on the religious, moral, health, psychological, social, familial, and media aspects. The descriptive analytical method was used to reveal the extent of knowledge and awareness among Kuwaiti families, as it was suitable for the nature of this study and its objectives. The study population consisted of certain segments of Kuwaiti society, and the sample comprised 410 selected through simple random sampling. The results showed that there is awareness and understanding among parents regarding the educational challenges. The results also indicated familiarity and awareness of the types of educational challenges facing parents from various aspects (religious, moral, health, psychological, social, familial, and media in the digital age). Furthermore, there were statistically significant differences in the extent of parents' knowledge regarding the educational challenges from the danger of homosexuality on families in Kuwait, of the digital era, based on the overall indicators and their subfields, resulting from differences in categories of variables (gender, age, educational qualification, number of years of marriage, number of family members). There were statistically significant differences across all dimensions, with the agreement percentages ranging between 82.73% and 94.25%. The highest agreement percentage was in the fifth dimension: the negative effects of homosexuality on social aspects, at 94.25%, while the lowest agreement percentage was in the fourth dimension: the negative effects of homosexuality on psychological aspects, at 82.73%. The responses for the first, second, third, fifth, sixth, seventh dimensions, and the overall total indicated strong agreement, while the fourth dimension indicated agreement. The researchers recommended the necessity of raising awareness about the dangers of the concept of homosexuality and similar concepts, as well as other forms of sexual deviation, and promoting proper and sound upbringing for children, providing them companionship, and raising awareness about the dangers of perilous sexual phenomena.
