Abstract

The study aimed to identify the Effectiveness of unit based on history of mathematics in developing conceptual understanding and productive disposition among second intermediate grade female students. The study based on the experimental approach with a quasi-experimental design based on both the experimental and control groups. Moreover, the study sample consisted of (54) female students was chosen by a random cluster sampling from the second intermediate school female students studying in Second intermediate school in Buraidah city. The experimental group of (26) female students studied using the history of, while the control group of (28) female students studied in the usual way. Thus, the survey tool was set as follows: Test of conceptual understanding, and the scale productive disposition. Then, the study reached a set of findings, the most prominent of which are: there is a statistically significant difference at a level (α between the mean scores of the female students of both experimental and control groups in the post application of the Test of conceptual understanding, and the scale productive disposition skills in favor of the experimental group. Then, the results also showed a significant impact of the unit based on history of mathematics the of conceptual understanding, and productive disposition, Based on its findings, the study provided a set of recommendations to curriculum developers, training and scholarship administration, mathematics teachers, and their educational supervisors. Moreover, it provided a number of research proposals related to the subject of the study.
