Abstract

This study aimed to identify the level of emotional intelligence and its relationship to feeling of happiness among the tenth grade students. The study followed the correlative descriptive approach, and scales were used to collect the study data. The first one was the emotional intelligence scale, the second one was the happiness scale. It was administered to (1042) male and female students from the tenth grade in Irbid Qasbah, then the study data were analyzed and the relationships and variables analyzed to reach the results of the study. The results of the study indicated that there was an average level of emotional intelligence, and a feeling of happiness among the tenth-grade students. The results of the study also concluded that adolescents have an average score on the two study scales, and that there was an inverted relationship between each of the dimensions of emotional intelligence and happiness, and that there is a direct correlation in favor of females.
