هدفت هذه الدراسة التعرف إلى أثر نسبة الاستحواذ على الکرة في نتيجة المباراة ضمن کأس العالم لکرة القدم في روسيا 2018م دور المجموعات،وفي أدوار خروج المغلوب من البطولة وأثر عدد التمريرات والتسديدات والمخالفات کمتغيرات وسيطة تم استخدامها في التحليل الإحصائي. وأظهرت النتائج أنه يوجد أثر ذو دلالة إحصائية لنسبة الاستحواذ على الکرة في نتائج مباريات دور المجموعات، بينما لم يکن هنالک أثر في نتائج مباريات أدوار خروج المغلوب. وأنه لا يوجد أثر لمتغير عدد التمريرات على النتيجة في نتائج مباريات الدورين. ولکن کان هنالک أثر لعدد التسديدات في دور المجموعات، ولم يکن ذو أثر في أدوار خروج المغلوب. ولم يظهر أثر لعدد المخالفات على نتائج المباريات في الدورين. وأوصت الدراسة بعدد من التوصيات أهمها: دراسة عدد المخالفات من حيث العقوبات (جزاء، مباشرة، غير مباشرة) وأماکن حدوثها في الملعب بالنسبة لنصفي الملعب.
This study aimed at identifying the impact of ball possession ratio on the match score in the 2018 FIFA World Cup < /strong>/ Russia, the stage of groups as well as the knockout stage and the passes, shots and fouls as mediator variables. The results showed that there was a statistically significant impact for the percentage of ball possession on the results of the group matches stage, while there was no impact on the results of knockout matches stage. The results revealed that there was no impact for the number of passes on the results of matches in both stages. The results showed there was an impact for the number of shots in the groups' stage, while there was no significant impact for the number of shots in the knockout stage. The number of fouls had no impact on the matches' scores in both stages. The study concluded with a number of recommendations, including the necessity of addressing the number of fouls in terms of penalties (penalty shoot-out, direct, indirect) as well as the places of their occurrence in the two parts of the pitch.
