مدى انتشار السمّنة بين الأشخاص ذوي الإعاقة في الأردن

هدفت الدراسة إلى التعرف على مدى انتشار السمّنة بين الأشخاص ذوي الإعاقة. ومن أجل تحقيق أهداف هذه الدراسة، تم اختيار عينة قوامها (423) فرداً ممن لديهم إعاقة بصرية وإعاقة عقلية. ومن ثم تم قياس الطول والوزن لهم. وبعد ذلک تم حساب متوسط مؤشر کتلة الجسم Body Mass Index (BMI). وتمت مقارنة قيمة المتوسط بالمعيار العالمي لتصنيف وزن الجسم الصادر عن منظمة الصحة العالمية World Health Organization (WHO). وقد أشارت نتائج هذه الدراسة إلى أن قيمة المتوسط الحسابي لمؤشر کتلة الجسم لدى أفراد العينة کانت (19.5). وتعني هذه القيمة أن السمّنة لا تنتشر بين الأشخاص ذوي الإعاقة في الأردن، لأن القيمة (19.5) تقع ضمن مدى الوزن الطبيعي والصحي الذي يتراوح بين (18.5- 24.9).
This study aimed to identify the prevalence of obesity among persons with disabilities in Jordan. In order to achieve the aims of this study, it has been selected a sample of (423) persons with disabilities. It was measure the tall and weight of all the persons, and then the Body Mass Index (BMI) was calculate. Then, compared it to global standard for the classification of body weight by BMI of the World Health Organization (WHO). Average has reached the arithmetic BMI among persons with disabilities overall (19.5). This value means that obesity is not spread among persons with disabilities in Jordan, because the value (19.5) is located within the range of natural and Healthy weight, which ranges between (18.5 – 24.9).
